Use of ferrite suppressors with ProPlex shielded category cables

TMB does not recommend the use of ferrite suppressors with ProPlex shielded category cables

The ferrite absorbs high-frequency magnetic fields with resultant attenuation of the fields leading to an increased non-linear attenuation of the signal. The result of this is to make the operational length of the cable shorter, the BER (Bit Error Rate) worse and distort the signal shape.

The best practice for EMC control is to ensure correct grounding of the cable screen in either end of the cable assembly using shielded RJ45 connectors.
