Before V3, a media server was just another
DMX fixture doing what a console told it to: Cue-lists or time-synchronized
events had to be composed upon a connected console.
V3 has its own powerful on-board
timeline-based programmer and controller.

Before V3, media servers required extensive
and time-consuming work, encoding media files to specific sizes
and types.
V3 loads and encodes all media
files, doing the conversions and file naming automatically,
even during a show.

Before V3, multiple media server installations
needed keyboards and terminals for each server, plus complex
outboard gear for system synchronization and visualization,
etc.
V3 features Hippo Net, a network
between all V3 Hippo’s allows a single control station
the ability to transfer media, (Drag and drop from one Hippo
to another) and the ability to govern multiple Hippotizers from
one location.
Note: An optional accessory software module “The Zoo Keeper”
allows any PC or MAC Lap-Top to control and monitor multiple
Hippo’s upon the Hippo-Net.

Before V3, a Hippotizer had a complicated
setup. Determining which output would drive what peripheral
could be confusing. Often a user had to quit the Hippo Control
Screen to adjust settings, using PC or Video Card software.
V3 has a “Drag and Drop”
user interface, giving the user more control while being easier
to use than a V2. A user can set up a machine the way the user
wants it using Hippo V3’s user defined interface. Adjust
control centre, monitors and outputs with V3, no external applications
needed.
- Before V3, adding new media or changing display modes meant
quitting the Hippo application and running media administration
software.
V3 allows the user to change output
mode or add media during a show - no shutdown and re-boot.

Before V3, presets had to be programmed
individually.
V3 allows updates and changes
of presets faster and easier by copying preset values from one
preset to another.
SOON TO BE RELEASED: Hippo Effects Editor and
ZooKeeper Offline Programmer. Effects Editor does just that; unlocking
almost endless effects editing capability. Offline Programmer
runs on any recent laptop PC or MAC. Its programming capability
is only limited by the capacity of the computer running it.
